The Problem
The homeless crisis in Portland is getting worse, not better. Most nonprofits that help the homeless provide compassionate care (food, clothing, medical needs, etc.). We need to be compassionate towards the homeless, but compassionate care does not address the underlying causes of homelessness. Without addressing these issues they are not solving the problem of homelessness.
What We Do
Hope for the Homeless Foundation provides funding for nonprofits that are most effective at helping the homeless gain stability, and when stable help them become housed.
Our Solution
There are over 400 organizations in the Portland area helping the homeless. Which ones are worthy of being supported financially? This is where Hope for the Homeless Foundation comes in.
We vet nonprofits that help the homeless to determine which ones to support financially based on six critically important metrics.
